We: • provide a unique residential camping experience for primary school children during the summer and early autumn terms, • accommodate only one school at a time enabling the children to feel the site, facilities and experience is theirs for the week. • are with the group teaching and organizing activities form 8am until 8pm and sometimes longer • are experienced, inspired and committed teachers who are passionate about offering children a unique and life changing learning experience. • provide tailor made educational programmes to suit your school’s specific needs • take the stress out of planning and running trips, providing all risk assessments and understanding the importance of only allowing one residential school group at a time.
The buildings have been converted to provide a beautifully designed dining room, classroom, games room as well as ample washing facilities. The kitchen on site provides home cooked healthy meals using local food wherever possible. Children enjoy the wonderful experience of camping in top quality 4- 6 berth tents and become fully immersed in their natural surroundings. Accompanying teachers experience the oriental delights of high spec safari style tents with beds and furniture. Set in the natural beauty of flower rich meadows and hedgerows ablaze with wildlife, we have chickens, pigs, vegetables, a stream, woodland, natural trails, willow tunnels, and even a quiditch pitch!
We provide tailor made educational programmes to suit your school’s specific needs. Below are just some of our full and half day on site activities which include:
Naturesbase adventure, (on the day you arrive groups will embark on an exciting discovery journey around the farm using a map to follow a trail, discovering new sights, sounds and smells on the farm. Children will carry out small tasks on their adventure, such as making sound maps, writing a haiku poem, and creating Native American Map Lines). Stories, myths and legends, (creating stories and drama on an outdoor stage), Farmers in training, (learn how to make hurdles, scarecrows and cheese, or harvest, plant and sow vegetables,) Developing a sustainable future, (A range of activities based around living more sustainably, promoting a deeper understanding of environmental issues, locate the best place for a wind turbine, make cob/earth bricks, build a solar oven and make a solar powered boat). Celtic safari,(carve a stick, gather the map and head off down an old drovers road and into the hills for a day of discovery.) Learning and building together, Through a series of imaginative team challenges, children will experience a variety of problems to solve, testing leadership and group skills along the way essential skills towards active global citizernship, with a lot laughter, frustration, and fulfilment along the way!

In the In the evening we sing rounds fires, go hunting for bats, orienteer around the site by torch light and listen to stories under the stars.
All this for just £135 pp per week based on 30 children, 1 free staff place for 10 children.
Day excursions at an additional cost include: the inspiring Centre for Alternative Technology, the very hands on Gold and Lead mines, or a great distant locality study of the stunning and interesting harbour town of Aberaeron on ther dolphin coast, ending the day with sculptures on the beach.

Our intention is that Naturesbase camp should be a resource which develops a whole new approach to the valuable tradition of the school journey. By the end of their stay, the children go home bright eyed, buzzing and full of energy, while the teachers return with many exciting new ideas to consolidate and enhance the knowledge gained.
